This base-mounted end suction pump utilizes a class 30 cast iron casing with integrally cast mounting feet and a bronze impeller. The assembly incorporates a dry shaft design to prevent circulating fluid from contacting the stainless steel shaft, which is protected by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve. A mechanical seal utilizes a ceramic seat half and EPT rubber components to ensure fluid containment. This configuration permits maintenance without disturbing existing system piping. Pressure tappings at the suction and discharge connections allow for monitoring, while the bronze impeller is balanced to ANSI Grade G6.3 standards.
The motor is a 7.5 HP premium efficiency TEFC model operating at 1750 RPM, equipped with Aegis grounding and a 380-460V, 3PH power supply, resulting in a DOE PEI of 0.44. The 'S' in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 1 / IP 21 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
