This base-mounted end suction pump comprises a class 30 cast iron casing with integrally cast mounting feet and a bronze impeller. It utilizes a dry shaft design, which isolates the stainless steel shaft from circulating fluid to prevent corrosion, and incorporates a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve. The pump houses a mechanical seal constructed with a ceramic seat and EPT rubber, rated for 250°F. This assembly maintains a maximum pressure of 125 PSI without a wear ring.
The pump operates with a 5 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor at 1750 RPM, which integrates Aegis grounding and runs on 380-460V / 3PH power, resulting in a DOE PEI of 0.47. The 'S' in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
