This base-mounted end suction pump is constructed with a class 30 cast iron casing and a bronze impeller. The design incorporates a stainless steel shaft paired with a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve, isolated by a dry shaft configuration that prevents fluid contact with the shaft assembly. A mechanical seal utilizes a ceramic seat half and EPT rubber, providing a pressure rating of 125 PSI without a wear ring. This pump integrates flush seal line taps and suction and discharge gauge ports to monitor pressure. The center-line discharge casing facilitates positive air venting, and the internal components are designed for maintenance without disturbing the system piping.
The assembly utilizes a 5 HP Premium Efficiency TEFC motor operating at 1750 RPM, incorporating Aegis grounding and powered by a 380-460V / 3PH supply, with a DOE PEI rating of 0.44. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
