This base-mounted end suction pump is constructed with a class 30 cast iron casing incorporating integrally cast mounting feet and a bronze impeller. The assembly utilizes a stainless steel shaft covered by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve in a dry shaft design that prevents circulating fluid from contacting the shaft. A ceramic and EPT mechanical seal rated for 250°F manages fluid containment within the housing, which maintains a 125 PSI pressure rating. The volute orientation consists of a center-line discharge for air venting, and the system includes suction and discharge gauge ports.
The pump operates with a 30 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor at 3450 RPM, which integrates Aegis grounding on a 380-460V / 3PH power supply, achieving a DOE PEI rating of 0.46. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
