This close-coupled end suction pump is constructed with a cast iron casing, a bronze impeller, and a bronze shaft sleeve. The assembly utilizes a mechanical dry shaft design that isolates the pump shaft from circulating fluid and integrates a replaceable slip-on shaft sleeve for seal maintenance. The mechanical seal assembly comprises a ceramic seat half and EPT rubber components to manage fluid containment. Pressure tappings are incorporated into the suction and discharge connections, and the pump incorporates flush seal line taps for the installation of optional filtration.
The 5 HP Premium Efficiency TEFC motor operates at 1750 RPM and includes Aegis grounding, powered by a 380-460V / 3PH supply with a DOE PEI rating of 0.45. The "S" in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a mechanical disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 4X / IP 66 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
