This base-mounted end suction pump utilizes a cast iron casing with an integrally cast mounting foot and a center-line discharge for air venting. A bronze impeller is dynamically balanced to ANSI Grade G6.3 and attaches to a stainless steel shaft. This assembly integrates a dry shaft design, which prevents contact between the circulating fluid and the shaft, protected further by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve. A mechanical seal constructed of ceramic and EPT materials rated for 250°F completes the hydraulic assembly. Pressure tappings sit on the suction and discharge connections, and the unit maintains a pressure rating of 125 PSI.
The motor provides 5 HP at a premium efficiency level with a TEFC enclosure, operating at 1750 RPM and incorporating Aegis grounding for 380-460V / 3PH power, resulting in a DOE PEI rating of 0.48. The "S" in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
