This base-mounted end suction pump incorporates a cast iron casing with center-line discharge and a bronze impeller. The design integrates a dry shaft construction to prevent circulating fluid from contacting the stainless steel shaft, which remains protected by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve. This assembly utilizes a mechanical seal composed of ceramic and EPT, capable of withstanding system pressures up to 125 PSI. The bearing housing contains permanently lubricated, sealed-for-life ball bearings to facilitate maintenance.
Operating at 40 HP, the premium efficiency TEFC motor rotates at 3450 RPM and incorporates Aegis grounding, powered by 380-460V / 3PH electricity with a DOE PEI rating of 0.46. The S in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 4X / IP 66 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
