This end suction pump utilizes a cast iron casing housing a bronze impeller and a bronze shaft sleeve. The assembly incorporates a dry shaft design that prevents contact between the circulating fluid and the shaft, which eliminates the need for corrosion-resistant shaft materials. A mechanical seal with a ceramic seat and EPT rubber ensures fluid containment at pressures up to 125 PSI. Integration of flush seal line taps allows for the addition of a filter to protect the seal from non-condensable particles. The casing also includes standardized pressure tappings on the suction and discharge connections to facilitate system monitoring.
The pump utilizes a 1.5 HP premium efficiency ODP motor operating at 1750 RPM, integrated with Aegis grounding and a 200-230V / 3PH power supply, resulting in a DOE PEI rating of 0.43. The "S" in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 1 / IP 21 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
