This close-coupled end suction pump integrates a cast iron casing with a bronze impeller and a bronze shaft sleeve to manage system fluids up to 125 PSI. The design utilizes a dry shaft arrangement that prevents fluid contact with the pump shaft, while the mechanical seal incorporates a ceramic seat and EPT rubber components to maintain sealing during operation. Flush seal line taps allow for the integration of a filter to shield the seal from non-condensable particles. Pressure tappings located on the suction and discharge connections facilitate monitoring of performance within the system.
The pump operates with a 5 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor at 1750 RPM, which utilizes Aegis grounding and a 200-230V 3PH power supply, resulting in a DOE PEI rating of 0.49. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
