This close-coupled end suction pump comprises a cast iron casing and a bronze impeller. The design utilizes a dry shaft arrangement that prevents contact between the circulating fluid and the pump shaft, removing the need for corrosion-resistant shaft materials. A bronze shaft sleeve protects the shaft while facilitating maintenance of the ceramic seat half and EPT rubber mechanical seal. Pressure tappings are located on the suction and discharge connections for system monitoring. The pump assembly maintains a pressure rating of 125 PSI.
Powered by a 5 HP premium efficiency ODP motor operating at 1750 RPM, the assembly utilizes Aegis grounding to protect motor bearings from electrical discharge. The power input accommodates 200-230V / 3PH, achieving a DOE PEI rating of 0.46. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 1 / IP 21 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
