This close-coupled end suction pump is constructed with a cast iron casing and a bronze impeller. The assembly incorporates a bronze shaft sleeve and a dry shaft design that eliminates contact with the circulating fluid, supporting operation up to 125 PSI without a wear ring. A mechanical seal with a ceramic seat half and EPT rubber component maintains fluid containment during operation. Pressure tappings on suction and discharge connections are present, while flush seal line taps allow for the installation of a filter to protect the seal from non-condensable particles.
The pump utilizes a 5 HP Premium Efficiency TEFC motor operating at 3450 RPM, integrated with Aegis grounding and powered by a 200-230V / 3PH supply, achieving a DOE PEI of 0.45. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
