This base-mounted end suction pump comprises a class 30 cast iron casing with a centerline discharge and a bronze impeller. A stainless steel shaft, protected by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve, employs a dry shaft design that prevents contact with the circulating fluid. The mechanical seal assembly utilizes a ceramic seat and EPT elastomers, providing a maximum pressure rating of 125 PSI. Integrally cast mounting feet support the volute, and the design allows for serviceability without disturbing system piping. Pressure tappings are located at the suction and discharge connections for monitoring.
The assembly utilizes a 5 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor, operating at 3450 RPM with Aegis shaft grounding, powered by a 380-460V, 3PH electrical supply, with a DOE PEI rating of 0.49. The "S" in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
