This base-mounted end suction pump incorporates a cast iron casing with integrally cast mounting feet and a center-line discharge. The construction utilizes a bronze impeller balanced to ANSI Grade G6.3 and a stainless steel shaft protected by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve. An internal dry shaft design prevents contact between the shaft and the circulating fluid. The pump includes a mechanical seal comprised of ceramic and EPT materials rated for 125 PSI operation. A foot-supported bearing housing contains permanently lubricated ball bearings, which allows for maintenance without disturbing system piping.
Powered by a 15 HP premium efficiency motor, the assembly utilizes a TEFC enclosure to operate at 1750 RPM with Aegis shaft grounding, drawing 380-460V / 3PH power, and achieving a DOE PEI rating of 0.47. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD integrates a 5kA SCCR rating and is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
