This base-mounted end suction pump utilizes a cast iron casing with a centerline discharge for positive air venting. The assembly integrates a stainless steel (NSF61) impeller that is hydraulically balanced for efficient fluid movement. A dry shaft design prevents contact between the circulating fluid and the shaft, which is protected by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve. The unit incorporates a mechanical seal assembly with ceramic seating and EPT elastomers to maintain a 125 PSI pressure rating. Fluid contact points utilize stainless steel and bronze materials to support operation within the pump volute.
The pump operates with a 5 HP Premium Efficiency TEFC motor at 1750 RPM, incorporating Aegis grounding on a PMAC motor rated for 200-230V / 3PH power, with a DOE PEI of 0.47. The S in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
