This base-mounted end suction pump comprises a cast iron casing and a stainless steel impeller. The assembly utilizes a dry shaft design that prevents contact between the circulating fluid and the stainless steel shaft. System protection is maintained by a bronze shaft sleeve and a mechanical seal composed of ceramic and EPT. This configuration operates at a maximum pressure of 125 PSI. Integrally cast mounting feet on the volute allow for positive air venting, while the construction permits service without disturbing connected system piping.
The motor operates at 5 HP with premium efficiency and a TEFC enclosure at 1750 RPM, utilizing Aegis grounding with a power supply of 200-230V / 3PH, achieving a DOE PEI rating of 0.5. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
