This base-mounted end suction pump comprises a cast iron casing with center-line discharge and integrally cast mounting feet to facilitate air venting. The hydraulic assembly incorporates a bronze impeller keyed to a stainless steel shaft, which is protected by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve. This dry shaft design prevents the circulating fluid from contacting the shaft. The mechanical seal utilizes ceramic seat halves and EPT rubber, providing a pressure rating of 125 PSI without a wear ring. The bearing housing contains permanently lubricated, sealed-for-life ball bearings that allow maintenance without disturbing existing piping connections.
The assembly utilizes a 5 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor operating at 1750 RPM with Aegis grounding, configured for a 380-460V / 3PH power supply with a DOE PEI rating of 0.44. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
