This base-mounted end suction pump is constructed with a cast iron casing and a bronze impeller. The design incorporates a dry shaft to isolate the stainless steel shaft from the circulating fluid, which is covered by a bronze shaft sleeve. For fluid sealing, the unit utilizes a mechanical seal comprised of a tungsten carbide seat and EPT rubber. The assembly supports 125 PSI operation and includes a wear ring within the casing to facilitate maintenance. Pressure tappings are located on the suction and discharge connections to provide monitoring points for the system.
The unit utilizes a 5 HP Premium Efficiency TEFC motor operating at 1750 RPM with Aegis grounding and a 200-230V 3PH power supply, resulting in a DOE PEI of 0.44. The "S" in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
