This base-mounted end suction pump incorporates a cast iron casing with integrally cast mounting feet and a bronze impeller balanced to ANSI Grade G6.3. The dry shaft design prevents contact between the circulating fluid and the stainless steel shaft, which is protected by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve. This assembly utilizes a mechanical seal constructed with a ceramic seat and EPT rubber. The internal design supports a maximum operating pressure of 125 PSI without a wear ring and provides suction and discharge connections tapped for pressure gauges and drainage. Permanently lubricated, sealed-for-life ball bearings support the rotating assembly within the cast iron bearing housing.
The pump utilizes a 40 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor operating at 1750 RPM, equipped with Aegis grounding and powered by a 380-460V / 3PH electrical supply. The "S" in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
