This base-mounted end suction pump utilizes a cast iron casing with center-line discharge and integrally cast mounting feet to facilitate positive air venting. The hydraulic assembly comprises a bronze impeller coupled to a stainless steel shaft that is protected by a bronze shaft sleeve within the dry shaft design. This configuration prevents the circulating fluid from contacting the internal shaft, while a ceramic and EPT mechanical seal prevents leaks at the shaft interface. Pressure tappings are incorporated at both the suction and discharge connections to allow for monitoring, and the pump casing withstands up to 125 PSI in the absence of a wear ring.
The 15 HP premium efficiency ODP motor operates at 1750 RPM and incorporates Aegis grounding, powered by a 200-230V / 3PH supply with a DOE PEI rating of 0.46. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 1 / IP 21 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
