This base-mounted end suction pump is constructed with a cast iron casing and a bronze impeller. It incorporates a stainless steel shaft paired with a bronze shaft sleeve, following a dry shaft design that prevents the circulating fluid from contacting the shaft components. The mechanical seal utilizes ceramic seat halves and EPT rubber, providing a pressure rating of 125 PSI. Gauge ports are integrated into the suction and discharge connections to facilitate system monitoring.
The system is powered by a 3 HP Premium Efficiency TEFC motor operating at 1750 RPM with Aegis grounding and a 380-460V / 3PH power supply, resulting in a DOE PEI rating of 0.45. The "S" in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
