This close-coupled end suction pump incorporates a cast iron casing and a bronze impeller to facilitate fluid transfer. The assembly utilizes a dry shaft design that eliminates contact between the circulating fluid and the pump shaft, removing the need for corrosion-resistant shaft materials. A replaceable bronze shaft sleeve protects the pump shaft while simplifying mechanical seal maintenance in the field. The mechanical seal assembly consists of a ceramic seat paired with EPT rubber components to provide a seal under operating pressures up to 125 PSI. Pressure tappings are integrated into the suction and discharge connections to allow for system monitoring.
The pump operates with a 40 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor at 1750 RPM, utilizing an Aegis grounding system for electrical protection while powered by 200-230V 3PH electricity, with a DOE PEI rating of 0.46. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
