This close-coupled end suction pump utilizes a cast iron casing and cover combined with a stainless steel impeller. The assembly incorporates a dry shaft design that prevents contact between the shaft and circulating fluid, protected by a bronze shaft sleeve. For seal maintenance, the unit integrates a slip-on shaft sleeve and a mechanical seal comprised of a ceramic seat half with EPT rubber components. Pressure tappings provided on the suction and discharge connections enable system monitoring, while flush seal line taps allow for the installation of external filtration to protect the seal from non-condensable particles in open systems.
The motor is a 50 HP premium efficiency TEFC model operating at 1750 RPM with Aegis grounding, powered by a 380-460V / 3PH supply, resulting in a DOE PEI rating of 0.46. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
