This base-mounted end suction pump is constructed with a cast iron casing and a bronze impeller. The assembly utilizes a stainless steel shaft paired with a bronze shaft sleeve to maintain structural integrity, while the dry shaft design handles pressures up to 125 PSI without the use of a wear ring. A mechanical seal, which incorporates a ceramic seat half and EPT rubber components, prevents leakage between the rotating shaft and the stationary casing. The design facilitates long-term operation by protecting the shaft from direct contact with the circulating fluid.
The motor is a 15 HP premium efficiency TEFC model operating at 1750 RPM, integrating Aegis grounding and a 380-460V / 3PH power supply, with a DOE PEI rating of 0.47. The 'S' in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 4X / IP 66 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
