Grundfos ALPHA High Efficiency ECM Variable Speed Circulator Pumps for Hydronic Heating, Cooling, Radiant, and Zoned HVAC Systems

Grundfos ALPHA High Efficiency ECM Variable Speed Circulator Pumps are electronically controlled wet-rotor circulators designed for hydronic heating, cooling, radiant floor, and other water-based HVAC applications. Combining high-efficiency electronically commutated motor (ECM) technology with variable-speed operation, ALPHA circulators provide an energy-efficient alternative to traditional fixed-speed and three-speed circulation pumps.

The Grundfos ALPHA range is designed to adjust circulator performance more closely to actual system requirements. Rather than continuously operating at a single fixed speed, compatible ALPHA models can vary pump output based on the selected operating mode or an external control signal. This makes the range particularly useful in modern hydronic systems where zone valves, thermostatic radiator valves, and changing heating or cooling loads cause system flow requirements to vary.

Depending on the selected ALPHA model, control options can include constant-speed, constant-pressure, proportional-pressure, AUTOADAPT, and externally controlled operation. Grundfos AUTOADAPT technology continuously analyzes system operation and adjusts the pump setpoint according to changing load conditions, helping provide the required circulation while avoiding unnecessary pump output.

With compact wet-rotor construction, high-efficiency motors, variable-speed capability, and intelligent control options, Grundfos ALPHA circulators are well suited for both new hydronic installations and upgrades from older circulators.
