Grundfos CRTE Vertical In-Line Multistage Pumps for Seawater, Desalination, Chemical Processing, and Variable-Speed Corrosive Liquid Applications
Grundfos CRTE Vertical In-Line Multistage Pumps are electronically controlled, corrosion-resistant centrifugal pumps designed for demanding applications involving seawater, chlorides, chemicals, and other aggressive liquids. Combining titanium wetted construction with a frequency-controlled motor, CRTE pumps provide both exceptional corrosion resistance and variable-speed operation for industrial processes where flow or pressure requirements change over time.
The Grundfos CRTE is a non-self-priming vertical multistage centrifugal pump. Multiple impeller stages generate the high head required for pressure boosting, reverse osmosis, desalination, industrial processing, and other demanding applications, while the vertical in-line configuration provides this pressure capability within a compact installation footprint.
The defining feature of the CRTE range is its titanium construction, coupled with variable-speed control. Grundfos specifies titanium for all components in contact with the pumped liquid in CRT and CRTE pumps. Titanium provides excellent resistance to seawater and marine atmospheres as well as a wide range of acids, alkalis, natural waters, chlorides, and industrial chemicals. This makes the CRTE particularly valuable where conventional cast iron or stainless steel wetted materials may not provide sufficient corrosion resistance.
Unlike the standard CRT, the CRTE uses a frequency-controlled motor. Variable-speed operation allows pump performance to be adjusted to actual system requirements, making the CRTE particularly useful for processes with changing flow or pressure demands. Matching pump output more closely to demand can also reduce unnecessary energy consumption compared with applications where a fixed-speed pump must be throttled to control output.
