Grundfos SE/SL Range Wastewater Pumps for Sewage, Drainage, Flood Control, and Municipal Wastewater Transport
Grundfos SE/SL Range pumps are heavy-duty wastewater pumps designed for sewage, drainage water, surface water, industrial wastewater, process water, and municipal wastewater transport. Built for demanding water utility, commercial, and industrial applications, the SE/SL range is used in pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, flood control systems, and sewage handling installations where reliable solids passage and long operating life are essential.
The Grundfos SE/SL 9-30 kW range is designed around SuperVortex and S-tube® impeller hydraulics for pumping sewage and wastewater in municipal, private, and industrial applications. These pumps are built to handle large solids, rags, fibers, and other wastewater debris that must pass through the pump without causing unnecessary downtime or excessive maintenance. Grundfos lists free passage from 35 to 125 mm depending on pump size and hydraulic variant.
The SE and SL ranges are closely related, but their installation capabilities are different. The SL range is designed for submerged installation, while the SE range includes a cooling jacket that supports both dry and submerged installation. This gives system designers flexibility when selecting pumps for wet wells, dry pits, pumping stations, wastewater networks, or treatment plant inlet systems.
For larger wastewater transport requirements, the SE/SL Range 56 covers 18-63 kW pumps designed for water utility, commercial, and industrial use, with customizable features for efficient water and wastewater transportation. Grundfos lists this frame size range as suitable for commercial wastewater, industrial wastewater treatment and reuse, wastewater transport, flood control, and wastewater treatment.
Grundfos SE Wastewater Pumps
Grundfos SE pumps are designed for sewage and wastewater applications where dry installation, submerged installation, or installation flexibility may be required. The SE range includes an internal cooling system or cooling jacket, allowing the pump to operate in dry-installed configurations as well as submerged applications.
This makes SE pumps especially useful for wastewater pumping stations, treatment plants, and industrial wastewater systems where pump access, cooling conditions, or installation layout may require more flexibility than a submerged-only pump design. SE pumps can be applied in drainage water, municipal wastewater, industrial wastewater, process water, and raw sewage transfer applications.
Typical SE Applications
- Dry-installed wastewater pumping stations
- Submerged wastewater pump installations
- Municipal sewage transport
- Wastewater treatment plant inlet pumping
- Industrial wastewater handling
- Process water transfer
- Drainage and surface water pumping
- Flood control systems
Grundfos SL Wastewater Pumps
Grundfos SL pumps are designed for submerged wastewater applications. Unlike the SE range, SL pumps do not include the same dry-installation cooling arrangement and are typically selected for wet well and submerged sewage pumping installations.
The SL range is used for pumping sewage, wastewater, drainage water, surface water, and industrial wastewater where the pump operates submerged in the pumped liquid. With S-tube® and SuperVortex hydraulic options, SL pumps are suited for wastewater systems where solids passage, clogging resistance, and dependable submerged operation are important.
Typical SL Applications
- Submerged sewage pumping
- Wet well pumping stations
- Municipal wastewater transport
- Domestic wastewater with toilet waste
- Industrial wastewater with fibers or solids
- Drainage water pumping
- Surface water pumping
- Wastewater treatment plant pumping
